LOUDWITHLIGHT is the musical alter ego of Kees Gootjes. He writes evocative, somewhat melancholy pop songs, influenced by equal parts '90s alternative rock, classical music and everything in between.

MUSIC His songs focus on beautiful melodies, interesting harmonies, and emotive accompaniment ranging from so loud that earplugs are necessary to soft and intimate. This dynamic range is done on purpose - soft songs hit harder when following a loud song.

PROTEST Kees has dedicated his professional career to fighting against economic injustice and for an economy that meets society's needs. Many songs also reflect this fight, and sometimes protest against what he sees as injustice or indifference. 

LOVE During his music and live performances, Kees works to connect with people - there is no better way to foster love and tolerance than through music and community. 

Born in South Korea and raised in Canada, Kees is now settled in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.
